Favoriten district once and now

September 27, 1874 is considered the birthday of Favoriten, but the first settlements in today’s district boundaries were already established in Roman times.

Let’s enjoy a walk with a great variety of sights and their prominent residents.

The district, which is traditionally characterized by industry and traffic and is now home to 10% of Vienna’s population, offers an illustrious insight into the past 150 years of the 10th district.

The Tour

The first freely elected mayor, Jakob Reumann, gave his name to our meeting point at Reumannplatz. We walk along the central Favoritenstraße via Keplerplatz and on to one of Vienna’s most modern districts, the Sonnwendviertel.

Via historic streets and alleyways with many prominent residents, we reach Columbusplatz with its historicist architecture, which was also laid out in the year the district was founded.

Finally, we visit Vienna Central Station, which opened in 2013, and the spectacular architecture of the Quartier Belvedere right next to it.

After around 2.5 hours, our tour ends and the nearby Belvedere invites us to take a well-deserved break with a wonderful view!

Quality is my highest priority and therefore the tours always take place target group oriented and in a relaxed atmosphere!

Hint: bring your camera

I am looking forward to meeting you!
